Things are moving along!

Well as usual it's been busy busy, but a few fun things have happend. Friday night we headed out to a furniture store where we sort of know the owners because the had just started there anual sale. We really didn't plan on buying anything just taking a look. BUT! we bought a couch for a room we hadn't even planned on buying a new couch for! Fredrik is NEVER the spontanious type but low and behold! It's beautiful too! We had planned on keeping our couches that we have now in the family room upstairs but this was a great deal and a great couch so we'll keep our bed soffa(which we thought we'd buy a new one) and put it in the office instead and now have this nice new couch upstairs. We even started looking for the furniture we want to the living room.

The painter has spackled the whole upstairs and is now working downstairs while the carpenter is putting up all the ceiling lists and it looks great!
Tommorrow we have a builders meeting that Fredrik is going to have to take by himself, I'm taking Andrew and Gabriel to the doctors at about the same time.

4 of our closets were put in and now Fredrik and I have to get the other 6 delivered(more like wardrobes that are built in on the spot). There's a waiting period because they thought they had them in stock but didn't so we are trying to find them elsewhere.

On Wens. they are apparently going to try and start putting the balcony up so that's exciting too!

Friday the ceramic tile layer/chimney man, is finally coming! He's about 3 weeks late and the carpenters have already told him they are going to whip him forward :)

Well that's all for now I think. Talk to you guys soon!

Painter started Monday!!

When things move fast they really move fast! Monday the 8th of January our painter came and started plastering the walls and told me in about a week and a half he'll be ready for wallpaper and paint! Oh my! So this weekend Fredrik and I have to get that all sorted out. Good thing is we have a pretty good idea how we want most of the rooms, just a matter of getting the color sketches all sorted out!

Today our electrition told us he's pretty much done drawing all the wirering, a few small details and he's done until the last two weeks when he's going to do all the "fine" stuff like putting up the outlet covers and light switches.

Some of the window panes have even gone in and the house is almost all done getting the drywall put up. Which means the carpenters start with flooring soon!!

Next monday the ceramic tile / chimney / fireplace man comes to finally start getting to work! Very exciting!

Seems like there's 15 things happening at once and Fredrik and I have to get some of our decisions made when it comes to bathroom cabinets/sinks and laundry room cabinets. Even when it comes to what to do with the walls. All of these things are going to be needed at about the same time.

I've started packing at home now and as true moving style, there's boxes everywhere already and it doesn't look like i've packed anything when you see all the clutter. But I'll get there. I'm really wanting to start buying some glasses and maybe a lamp or two, might have to smuggle those past Fredrik, ssshhhh, don't tell LOL.

Until next time, keep on hammering!

Finally we hired painters!!!

At the house today it was full activity! The plumbers were there drawing all the cables for the radiators upstairs, both carpenters were there, one continued with the plastering and Bengt was installing our sliding doors, Kenneth the electrition was there and Fredrik was out there fixing the last of the speaker boxes.
Our salesman was supposed to(as usual he didn't get it done) fix us a new painter. In the beginning of this process he got us quotes for all the work that needed to be done on the house and that included a painter. Well the one we chose and that he suggested seemed to have some problems and the house company stopped working with him. So for 6 months now the salesman has said he's going to get us a couple of new quotes to look at. Problem is he forgot, of course, and the carpenters are now ready for the painters to come in! Panic panic! Well we got sick of waiting for Goran to fix this and made a few phone calls ourselves and hade a crew out right before New Year. They called with there quote today and it was reasonable so we said yes, you got the job! They are starting on Thursday!

I myself headed over to the paint/wallpaper store and borrowed some more catalogs and color charts so we can try and get something chosen. We have some good ideas, we just need to find them.

Andrew and Kyle are coming home after there vacation to Spain over Christmas so this evening we'll spend with them giving them there gifts and having dinner together but maybe later in the evening we can all look at some of the catalogs.

Fredrik and I have started GI eating today so I bought a scale and am going to even measure us tonight. Fredrik really doesn't need it but I think he's supporting me :)
